Introduction

The TIAC Research Fellowship is a scheme under the patronage of TIAC, at the Faculty of Business and Economics (FPE), formerly known as Faculty Economics and Administration (FEA), Universiti Malaya. This scheme was initiated on 19th August 2020 with the establishment of TIAC Unit. The purpose of the scheme is to enlarge the pool of well-trained postgraduate students in the field of monetary and financial economics. The scheme provides support to researchers in the effort to promote knowledge in monetary and financial economics in ways that findings and ideas can have real-world impact. The scheme is to provide researchers the exposure to new thinking in monetary and financial economics in order to respond to current policy issues, to engage in our TIAC blog, as well as to work with prominent economists, honorary TIAC Fellows and policymakers.

Objectives

1. Building a strong foundation in the field of monetary and financial economics amongst the next generation of Malaysian economic graduates.

2. Enhancing the knowledge and expertise in the field of monetary and financial economics for practical purpose such as responding to policy issues.

3. Sharing new thinking in monetary and financial economics with the local banking and financial community.
